Grapeland now boasts a Brookshire Brothers Express tailor made for its community. The latest retail location for the Lufkin-based grocer welcomed its first customers at 6AM Wednesday, October 26th.  In opening the store, company COO John Alston said, “The good people of Grapeland let us know from the beginning that they needed not only a grocery store but a full-service pharmacy.

Brookshire Brothers Announces Four New Stores

Lufkin-based Brookshire Brothers is turning up its growth pattern in the coming year.  The 100% employee-owned regional grocer announces plans to open stores in four rural markets starting this fall in Grapeland, Texas.  The announcement coincides with the company’s 95th birthday and its legacy of serving communities throughout Texas and western Louisiana. Egg production has been a hot button in the food industry recently.  Some companies throughout the egg supply chain have made public announcements about working toward ‘cage-free’ egg production.  Brookshire Brothers joins with other retailers in promoting an industry-wide evolution toward more cage-free egg production.

Brookshire Brothers gets a warm Hill Country welcome from the folks in and around Canyon Lake.  The community showed up in big numbers Wednesday, February 3rd for the store’s soft opening. The Lufkin-based company has opened its 34,000 square foot grocery store on FM 306 and the Marina Road, bringing aisles of fresh options, prepared foods and extensive wine and beer offerings to the region.

Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation Distributes Funds to Non-Profits

Organizations that lay the foundation for stronger communities will have more resources to help them help others thanks to Brookshire Brothers. The company’s Charitable Foundation announced its 2016 recipients, including 15 non-profits and three education foundations. Trustees and company executives presented more than $110,000 to the recipients on Monday, January 25th at the company’s Distribution Center in Lufkin.

The Wait is Almost Over! Canyon Lake Convenience Store Now Open!

Good things come to those who wait! That’s exactly what Brookshire Brothers will show its Canyon Lake neighbors in early February.  The Lufkinbased grocer’s newest location is set to open the first week of February with a Chamber Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening set for February 10th. But shoppers don’t have to wait until February to try out Brookshire Brothers. A companion convenience store opened January 20th at the corner of FM 306 and Canyon Park Road.

Brookshire Brothers Finalizes Sale of Polk Stores

Brookshire Brothers signed papers Monday officially selling twenty-six of its Polk Pick-It-Up stores to Partners Investors C-stores, Ltd. The Lufkin-based grocer will keep its Polk Pick-It-Up locations in Hudson, Central Heights, Central and Wells.  Brookshire Brothers acquired Polk Oil Company in 2007.

Brookshire Brothers Opens Pilot Point, Texas Store

It was a grand way to start the 4th of July in Pilot Point as Brookshire Brothers opened its 107th store. The employee-owned company out of Lufkin invited the entire community to the July 1st party that featured cheerleaders, Cub Scouts, veterans, a prize wheel, dignitaries, giveaways and samples for hundreds.  Chamber of Commerce Executive Denise Morris and Chamber President Jim McIlroy joined COO John Alston and Store Director Richard Hamill in cutting the ribbon. Recent Pilot Point High School graduate Harmony Tetmeyer sang The National Anthem.

A Flood of Love for Wimberley

Musicians with a heart for Wimberley will come together August 9th for a concert to benefit residents of the flood ravaged community.  Lufkin-based Brookshire Brothers reached out to Wimberley-based singer-songwriter Robyn Ludwick about sponsoring a concert to raise funds for the victims of the Memorial Day floods. Ludwick marshalled the forces and with Judy Hubbard, fellow Wimberley resident and manager/wife of Texas music legend Ray Wylie Hubbard,  have put together a stunning line-up sure to strum up significant support.
