Trick or Trot 5K and Fun Run Returns for a Morning of Fitness and Family Fun
Community grocer brings the fun on Halloween weekend
LUFKIN, TEXAS – Lace up your running shoes and grab your costumes! The 4th annual Trick or Trot 5K and Fun Run, benefiting the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation, is set for Saturday, October 25, at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center Plaza in downtown Lufkin.
The morning kicks off early with race-day check-in beginning at 7 a.m. The one-mile Fun Run, sponsored by Hiland Dairy, starts at 8 a.m., followed by the ever-entertaining Mascot Mad Dash at 8:30 a.m., where some of Lufkin’s most engaging and hilarious mascots will take to the course. The costume contest follows shortly after, giving participants of all ages the chance to show off their creativity before the 5K race begins at 8:45 a.m.
The award ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m., and festivities will wrap up by 10:00 a.m. In addition to the races, participants and spectators can enjoy pumpkin decorating, a photo booth, balloon animals, carnival-style games, free giveaways, and more—making it a morning full of family-friendly fun.
All proceeds from the Trick or Trot benefit the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation, which supports nonprofit organizations across the communities served by Brookshire Brothers.
“This event is such a fun, safe way for families to celebrate the Halloween season together. There is still plenty of time to sign up. The Fun Run is open to all ages for just $15 and the 5K is $35. Prices increase after October 24 at 11:59 p.m., but runners can still sign up the day of the race.
