Celebrate Earth Day!
Small Changes. Big Impact.

At Brookshire Brothers, we believe every day is a chance to make a difference, and Earth Day is the perfect reminder to take a step back and appreciate the planet we call home. This April 22nd, we’re encouraging our customers and communities to celebrate Earth Day by being more mindful in everyday moments, starting with your grocery trip.

Bring Your Own Bags

One of the simplest ways to reduce waste? Reusable bags. By switching from single-use plastic to sturdy, reusable bags, you help reduce landfill waste and cut down on the resources used to produce disposable bags. Plus, reusable bags are often more durable and comfortable to carry—and they come in a variety of fun colors and patterns!

Reduce

One way to celebrate Earth Day is by being intentional with your purchases. Buy only what you need, and look for items that offer more value with less packaging. Choose products with recyclable, compostable, or minimal packaging when you can.

Reuse What You Can

Before you toss packaging, think about how it might be reused! Glass jars are perfect for pantry storage, craft supplies, or homemade sauces. Sturdy boxes can be repurposed for organizing closets, drawers, or even creating fun DIY projects with the family. Giving packaging a second life is an easy way to cut down on waste and get creative at the same time.

Recycle

From home to the break room to your weekend events, recycling is a great way to keep useful materials out of landfills. If your city offers curbside recycling, take advantage of it—or locate a drop-off center nearby. If you haven’t already, Earth Day is a great time to start sorting recyclables at home. Many household items—like plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, and aluminum cans—can be recycled with ease. It’s a small shift that adds up over time.

Give Back with Your Time

Another powerful way to honor Earth Day? Volunteer. Join a local cleanup, plant trees, or lend a hand at a community garden. Whether it’s just for an hour or the whole day, giving your time helps strengthen your community and our planet.
