$104,092 Donation Made to Texas Hill Country Relief Efforts

Brookshire Brothers Customers and Charitable Foundation Make Sizable Donation to The Salvation Army’s Texas Division

LUFKIN, TEXAS (August 13, 2025)… In the wake of devastating flooding over the July 4th weekend, Brookshire Brothers customers and the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation have joined forces to make a significant impact on recovery efforts in the Texas Hill Country.

Through the generosity of customers, $54,092 was raised to aid flood victims. The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation matched those donations with an additional $50,000, bringing the total contribution to $104,092. All proceeds were donated to The Salvation Army’s Texas Division to provide critical relief and long-term recovery support in affected communities.

The Salvation Army’s initial response to the catastrophic flooding focused on meeting urgent needs—providing food, hydration, relief supplies, and Emotional & Spiritual Care to First Responders, residents, and survivors. Today, the focus has transitioned to long-term recovery efforts, which are expected to continue over the next 12 to 24 months, particularly in the 10 federally declared counties eligible for individual assistance, as well as in surrounding communities that did not receive federal aid and will rely heavily on nonprofit support.

With more than 2,900 homes impacted across Texas—including 853 major/destroyed and 1,347 minor damage assessments—the projected financial need for recovery is substantial.
